This is an approximation. Real schedulers change the next date based on how each review goes. This tool can't see your answers, so it assumes every review is a successful, on-time recall.
SM-2 follows the published SuperMemo-2 rules: first interval 1 day, second 6 days, then each interval is the previous one × the ease factor, rounded up. Ease starts at 2.5 and stays there for a "correct after hesitation" grade (q = 4), which is what this tool assumes.
FSRS-style uses the FSRS-6 formulas with the default parameters published by the open-spaced-repetition project, assuming every review is rated "Good". The next review is set for when your predicted chance of recall falls to the desired retention. Real FSRS fits parameters to your own review history, so your intervals would differ.
Reviews that would land on or after the exam are dropped. The optional pre-exam review is added the day before the exam unless a review is already scheduled then.
